Stay Productive Wherever You Work With Your AI Personal Assistant

Hey, Siri! What is an AI personal assistant? Well, believe it or not, this is our new world. We want the Siris and Alexas of the world to turn up the music and tell us the direction while driving. And why not? We, humans, have built this smart world. We must make the best out of it.

We don’t know if you noticed it, but AI has been developing itself for a long time now. It never gets much publicity because, well, it is changing our lives in more ways than just one, and sometimes, we are not very adaptive to the changes. So whether you like it or not, from checking appointments to handling heavy machinery, AI is everywhere. It is the next chapter in the revolutionary world of technology. So, start taking notes now.

A glance at the AI market

First of all, it is booming. That fact needs to be stated here because the numbers are pretty unreal. As per the Mckinsey Global Research, the artificial intelligence market is expected to reach $300.26 billion by 2026. In the year 2017, it was $15.70 billion.

The report mentioned the demand for AI personal assistants is the factor driving this growth at such a speed. This compound annual growth rate is anticipated to reach 17.2% from 2018 to 2025.

In fact, without you realizing, the industries are slowly merging all their products and services with AI personal assistant software. The integration is so smooth that you do not even feel it. Let’s just say, there is no smartphone these days that comes without a built-in AI assistant app.

What is an AI personal assistant?

A piece of software that can perform tasks for a user based on voice and written commands is an AI personal assistant. Let’s face it, the millennial generation can get addicted to anything that works on their voice commands. But that’s not all, AI can provide insights based on data that it collects and understand a user’s behavior. This is how the modern-day AI personal assistants provide more personalized responses than just generic ones.

Honestly speaking, AI personal assistant is the next wow factor in the world of technological advancements. Digital humans are literally the future. According to a report from Global Market Insights, there will be an increase of 35% in the market share for technology between 2016 to 2024. And why should that be of any doubt? Especially in times of a global pandemic, wouldn’t you instead a machine doing the assistant jobs for you than an actual human being?

So one thing is for sure, as voice assistants become robust, the face of their usage at a business and personal level will grow dramatically.

Why AI, you ask?

Just to get smarter. If you are able to mitigate the tasks that need no assistance from you, your productivity will only increase in the things that need your full attention. So you can use AI personal assistant for mundane tasks like online information, set appointments, organize calendar, set alerts/reminders, connect to other smart gadgets, open apps, and so many more. Besides, technologists are working around the clock to make the interactivity with AI personal assistants more intelligent, which will only get better with time.

In fact, as per the Salesforce research, 27% of their customers use AI, personal assistants, on a daily basis integrated into their gadgets, homes, devices, and cars.

What are the benefits of an AI personal assistant?

Well, as we mentioned before, they are about to make things smarter. Here’s a list of benefits:

  • Accessibility: AI personal assistants are the best innovation in technology for people with disabilities. For example, voice interaction is a blessing for visually impaired people.
  • Convenience: The mundane activities that take up most of your time can now be done by something else. It’s like making notes, only you are not making notes. Your AI personal assistant is. So you automate the mundane tasks and contribute your time to better things.
  • Human touch: There has been a survey that was conducted by a bunch of students from the wellness industry, which actually displayed that the youth around their neighborhood and school is less depressed since the launch of virtual assistants. The human touch is making it possible for people to develop an emotional connection and sufficient communication bond.

Even at office workspaces, 92% of users rely on virtual assistants to search for information, as mentioned in the salesforce report

Examples of AI personal assistants:

Alexa

Last year, Amazon sold over 100 million Alexa-powered gadgets. However, Alexa is not the most accurate as of the accuracy of its answers ranges below 80%. But you must note that Alexa is undoubtedly the most popular. It works on all kinds of Amazon devices, along with Android, Apple, Windows, and Linux devices. In fact, the Firestick by Amazon is the most loved by people. Popularity and affordability are two great combinations, after all.

As per market stats, the Alex-powered echo dominates the smart speaker market too.

Siri

Siri has been a part of our lives since 2010. Do you remember the Sir-less time of your life? It is hard to imagine, right? All the apple smart devices come with Siri.

In all honesty, Siri is probably the sassiest of all the virtual voice assistants. Siri was initially installed just to make things like calling and texting, or opening specific application commands. But as the intelligence progressed, Apple has made sure their AI personal assistant beats other competitors.

Google Assistant

Mainly compatible with Google devices. Initially, Google came up with Google Now, but it was pulled down. The idea was to pull up relevant information for the consumer, but that idea was scratched. Now the Google Assistant is smarter than before for things like accessing calendars, finding information, creating information, and even reading notifications.

In fact, until 2016, Google did not even have its own flagship virtual assistant AI software, which is probably why it is the least popular of all. However, it may be unpopular, but it sure answers 92.9% of the queries correctly.

To be honest, the future of AI personal assistants is very bright. Having a machine do things for you is a luxury, and as far as these times of global crisis and pandemic are concerned, now is the right opportunity for companies to put their foot in the door.
